Weekly Training Log: Week of December 30th, 2013: New Years Week

Happy new year!

Last week was another week off of work and another week to excuse myself from life to celebrate the good that came from 2013 and the good yet to come from 2014.

There's not a whole lot to say about last week in life or training other than that it was a good one.  I had a few key runs and am confident that I am close to where I was before the injury to my left foot.  Though still a bit sore, my foot is feeling okay for the most part.  Speedwork is back in the training plan, and I feel confident while ramping up the amount of speed/tempo workouts.

The bike is also coming back very nice and quick.  I have a very nice place to train downstairs this winter and am looking forward to taking advantage of it.  This is the first winter where I am using power as  training metric, thus I am very excited/interested to see what I can do with it and how it will help me improve.  I don't think that I'll necessarily be a sub 4:40 112 mile rider this season, but think that I'll be very, very close (FL or TX).

It's January, and motivation is ramping up.  2014 should be a good one!

Motivation - I have five planned races where I will swim 2.4 miles, ride 112 miles, and run 26.2 miles
