Weekly Training Log - April 1st through April 7th

Weekly totals

My original intentions for this week were to get back at it and get close to 200 miles on the bike and around 40 miles running.  Those are the magic combined numbers that give me the strength in the long stuff (at least I think).  I know those are not huge numbers - but it gets the job done due to the amount of intensity that I like to throw in with my workouts.

So as you can see in the actual totals, I didn't do what I wanted.

When I got back from Maui on Monday, I was tired.  It took until Saturday that I was feeling any type of normal, and I didn't have any really quality sessions all week.  The first time I felt like myself was actually Monday (the 2nd)... Included in the next weeks totals so I wont really talk about that one.

So I am resting a bit this week for Boston on Monday the 15th.  I will get in what I can get in and see where that goes.  I fly out to Boston on Friday and get back on Tuesday after the Marathon.  It'll be a fun one!

I am under milage for running and not feeling the best for the race.  I am putting Boston as a"B-" race.  26.2 miles sure is a long way to run.  Im looking forward to it none the less

OH - AND ONE MORE THING... Signed up for Ironman Louisville in Kentucky again.  I am very very excited to get to race a 2nd full this season.  I think it is a very good sign that they won on Monday.  August 25th is going to be an awesome day!

Run: 34.2 miles
Bike: 131 miles
Swim: Seeing the total at zero has me motivated at least.

My son was still in Maui - I think he likes it there too :)  He has some new slippers in this picture.

My wife arrived home on Sunday morning without Aiden.  It was awesome to get a few days with her alone.  Here she is with Kona - one of our dogs.

I enjoyed a few nice beers at the local bar.  I had to get out and socialize a bit.  When I have been home alone, I always end up going over to this place and watch sports/talk sports with random people sitting there.  I love it.
