Weekly Training Log: Week of July 1st :Boom.

I hurt my foot.  My left foot.

I was having a great week of training and time with my family this past week. Then on Saturday, I thought that my season might be over.  Like over till after Kona.

I am a bit more optimistic now though...

Rewind a bit.

I had an absolutely amazing week of celebration and fun with Beth, Aiden, Mom, Dad, Erin, Kyle, River and Autumn.  After the wedding last weekend, Beth Aiden and I got home to Boulder on Sunday and had a nice mellow start to the week.  My nephew River's birthday was on Thursday (the 4th of July) and we were lucky to go celebrate at a place that I grew up loving.  The Green Scene AKA Gateway Park - Mom had the big tent reserved for awesome party time.  Go carts, batting cages (I was sore), mini golf, beer, and other games were great.  Then on Friday, I got a ride, run, then swim in and went to water world with everyone.  Life is good!

Then I went for my 16 mile "go to" long run on Saturday and boom.  14 miles in, I felt like my shoe was too tight, but no.  My foot was more like broken.  I went home and hobbled around for the afternoon, then went to dinner at my parents house.  I couldn't walk the next morning so I went to urgent care.  I didn't know what to think.  I was booted and it made everything feel a bit better.

Even though I thought that I may be done for the year,  I might be back much sooner than I thought.  Like much sooner.  It's all down to how serious this thing is.

Run: 35.0 miles

My winter training spot.  Very glad to have not ridden down here in a while.
